What is the Upside Down Circus?
We are aware that some people receiving this email may not know what the Upside Down Circus is. Simply put, the Upside Down Circus is a FREE festival of fun for kids and families which is all about helping them discover how Jesus puts things the right way up. We do this creatively through Activity Tents, Big Top shows, storytelling, games and crafts.
Often kids and families in our community, like us, experience an UPSIDE DOWN world, one that is quite different from the way God intended. This UPSIDE DOWNESS is caused by people turning away from God and His love for them and making their own choices about how to live. Despite this, we know that God’s love for all people has not changed. God demonstrated this when He sent His Son Jesus to earth to remind people what life in His world was really meant to be like. Through His death and resurrection Jesus proved that He alone is the one who has power to put people’s lives the right way up. One day Jesus will return as King and put the world the right way up forever.
So the Upside Down Circus is an intentional evangelistic event to share this GOOD NEWS with kids and families in our community. However, it is an event like no other. Uniquely the UDC is funded and hosted entirely through the working together of volunteers from local northern Christian churches and partnerships with para church organisations. Everyone who loves Jesus is invited to come and be part of this event.
NEW!!! Upside Down Circus Youth Camp
In 2018 the Upside Down Circus is offering Youth Groups and their leaders the opportunity to attend an all new Upside Down Circus Youth Camp. This will be a 4 day/ 3 night camp where young people will:
- receive teaching and training in community evangelism
- learn a variety of skills such as face painting, balloon modelling, drama
- build relationships with other Christian Youth in local churches
- experience working together in unity as the local northern church helping kids and families discover how Jesus puts things the right way up
- participate in youth worship, prayer and games
Camp attendance is free but it is expected that food costs will be covered by own groups. Camping overnight is optional but free accommodation is available and negotiable on registration. If you are interested in receiving more information or participating in this camp then please let us know via return email.
Can we come to your place?
We would love to come and visit as many local churches in the northern suburbs as possible to:
- talk more about being part of the Upside Down Circus
- be available to answer questions
- discuss how individuals and churches might get involved
Please let us know by return email if we can come, dates and times are negotiable.
